Frequently Asked Questions When Logging in to Texas Wildlife Information Management Services (TWIMS)

I have forgotten my login name. Can you tell me what it is?
Your login name is the email address you provided to your local TPWD biologist for access to TWIMS. Be sure to include the entire address (it usually looks something like this - jsmith@tpwd.net). If you cannot remember the address you provided, please contact your local TPWD biologist or  twims@tpwd.texas.gov.
I have forgotten my password. Can you tell me what it is?
Due to security protocols, it is not possible to look up your password. You may reset your account, which will generate a new temporary password for access to TWIMS. On the login page, enter the email address registered with the TWIMS application and click the 'Forgot Password' link. Your account will be reset and you will receive a new password through your email. If you cannot remember the email address you registered with TWIMS, or have any other questions, contact your local TPWD biologist.
I have the email from TWIMS with my password, why isn't it working?
The password in your email is only temporary. The first time you log in to TWIMS, you are prompted to change the password to something meaningful to you. After you change your password, the temporary one in the email will not work. If you cannot remember your password, on the login page, enter the email address registered with the TWIMS application and click the 'Forgot Password' link. Your account will be reset and you will receive a new password through your email. If you cannot remember the email address you registered with TWIMS, or have any other questions, contact your local TPWD biologist.
I received an email about my harvest recommendations but I haven't created a login name or password. How do I do that?
Prior to receiving the harvest recommendation email, you should have received an email with the subject 'Texas Wildlife Information Management Service - Private Lands user account registration'. This email will provide log in instructions including your login name and temporary password. If you did not receive the email, please let your biologist or  twims@tpwd.texas.gov know so he or she may reset your account.
How do I get a TWIMS account?
In order for you to receive a login name and password, your local TPWD biologist needs to enter your email address into the TWIMS system. Have you received an email with the subject Texas Wildlife Information Management Service - Private Lands user account registration? This email will provide log in instructions. If you did not receive the email, please let your biologist or  twims@tpwd.texas.gov know so he or she may create/reset your account.

I haven't ever received an email from TWIMS, and my biologist told me I should have. What happened?
Sometimes the messages sent from TWIMS are caught by your email as spam or junk email. This can be due to a setting on your computer or something set for you by your internet provider. If you find a message from TWIMS in a spam or junk mail folder, simply click the message and mark it as 'Not Spam.' If you don't know how to do that or cannot find the message in a spam or junk mail folder, contact tech support with your internet provider.
I am getting the error, 'You are not authorized to view this page.' What is wrong?
The error, 'You are not authorized to view this page' occurs when there is a problem with our TWIMS server. It does not mean something is wrong with your account. If you receive this error, contact  twims@tpwd.texas.gov and try to log in again at a later time.
I am getting the error, 'Login failed.' What is wrong?
The error, 'Login failed' occurs when there is a problem with your login credentials. Please check to make sure you are entering your entire email address for your login name and are using your current password. Remember that after you log in the first time to TWIMS your temporary password will not work because you were prompted to change it. If you continue to have problems please contact your local TPWD biologist or  twims@tpwd.texas.gov.
